Whether you’re Kenyan-born, Kenyan-Canadian, or simply someone who loves Kenyan culture, you’re welcome here. We’re a growing community that shows up for one another, shares laughter, swaps stories, and keeps the spirit of umoja (unity) alive. Come take a look at what brings us together and keeps us going.
The Kenyan Community of the National Capital Region (KE-NCR) is more than a name. It is a nyumbani (home) away from home. Since July 18, 2013, we have brought together Kenyans and friends of Kenya across Ottawa, Gatineau, and surrounding areas. We welcome newcomers, support one another, and share the richness of our culture through sherehes, gatherings, and community initiatives.
Powered by volunteers and fueled by community spirit, KE-NCR exists to create spaces of belonging, connection, and celebration.
In the rhythm of our stories, the warmth of our gatherings, and the strength of our shared dreams, we come together not just as Kenyans, but as neighbours. Rooted in umoja (oneness) and uplifted by moyo (heart), we honour who we are, where we’ve been, and where we’re going, side by side, step by step.
